I was tasked to create a new RTB for the new infant formula of Pediasure. The following is the process from concept generation to execution.

Pediasure RTB Design

Brief

The new RTB/icon symbolises protein/ mini-peptides that help with the absorption of nutrients for the infant.

The goal was to show how the peptides look like, with the feeling of absorption, and for the RTB to have an ownable holding shape (In the previous design, there were a lot of rounded and hexagonal shapes presented, which were widely used in other competitor's packaging).

Concept Generation

In my research, the common depicgtion of proteins and peptides are circular and hexagonal shapes (Which unfortunately, isn't ideal for the client).

To solve this, I first thought of merging the shapes. For example, merging the hexagonal shapes together to give a structural form without showing its base shape. However. it didn't give the feeling of absorption enough.

Concept Generation 2

Since merging the base shapes didn't seem to work, I tried rethinking what other shapes that could represent the proteins.

I found out that proteins are made out of chains and ribbons of peptides, and I wanted use that as a concept instead.

Final Outcome

Skewing the ribbon showed movement of the molecules in the loop of protein, and it also gave the peptides word-mark a unique bounding shape like the client wanted.
